She has dedicated he entire life to giving back to the community. SHe was honored for her accomplishments by being inducted into the Black Cowboy/Cowgirl hall of fame. To be in her presence is to experience greatness. She is beautiful physically and internally. SHe is my SHERO! I wish her many years of continued success. SHe will leave a legacy to the youth of Hartford that is second to none.
Can a photograph make a positive impact in the way one perceives oneself? Can it change the self-image of a city or region? Can Art make a difference?
Photographer- Joe Standart delves into these and other questions in a series of monumental art events/exhibitions which when combined will be known as Portrait of America. The first installation took place in New London, Connecticut and is known as PORTRAIT OF A CITY-THE NEW LONDON PROJECT. It represents the Northeast and discussed the topic of "self-image." Future projects will take place in New Orleans, Detroit, and Santa Barbara on the subjects of Home, Work and Play.
